About us

The name casa sarta, meaning "seamstress  house" in Italian, is a homage to my childhood and family .

My Nonna, a seamstress, followed my Nonno to Australia and built a life here working in Sydney’s ragtrade sewing garments. Later, she continued her sewing work from home while raising her three daughters.

 

 

Many of my childhood memories were created in their home, where my Nonna used her creativity and resourcefulness to make everything from dance costumes and ballet shoes to my pyjamas. Along with her cooking, sewing is still her way of expressing love and care for her family.

 

It is this same feeling that inspires casa sarta to pour love, care and quality into every piece we create for you.
